OR you connect to a Microsft SQL server via an encrypted connection, but the server is not configured with TLS\/SSL<\/p>\n<p><strong>Resolution<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Step1: Open SQL Server configuration manager. Click on the properties of &#8220;Protocol for SQLServer$Instance&#8221; and select the SSL certificate from the dropdown list.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-283\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hostingahead.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/SQL-SSL-Selection.png\" alt=\"Select SSL certificate\" width=\"904\" height=\"633\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hostingahead.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/SQL-SSL-Selection.png 904w, https:\/\/www.hostingahead.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/SQL-SSL-Selection-300x210.png 300w, https:\/\/www.hostingahead.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/SQL-SSL-Selection-768x538.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 904px) 100vw, 904px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Step2: Restart the SQL server service.<\/p>\n<p>If you do not see an SSL in the dropdown, you need to install a self-signed SSL or a standard certificate via IIS certificate manager.<\/p>\n<p>When you install the certificate make sure it goes under the &#8220;Personal Section&#8221; Instead of The &#8220;Web Hosting account&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If you cannot start SQL server after installing SSL, please do the following:<\/p>\n<p>Step1: Open the certificate manager via MMC.
